Khum Khantoke is the latest Khantoke restaurant of Chiang Mai. Situated on the eastern side of the city on Superhighway road, right behind Carrefour Supermarket, it is decorated in spacious Lanna style which will impress everyone at first sight. Guests are welcome to pick their seat from traditional style on the flat floor with triangle pillow backrest or sitting in an open air sala with wells to rest their feet and legs under the table.
Visitors to Chiang Mai will be happy to see and learn more about northern Thailand culture at Khantoke Dinner Show performances. The tradition of Khantoke is much older than 30 years, before that it was more of a ceremony presented only to very honored guests. Taking place in the cool and pleasant evening after sunset under candlelight, the event reflects the elegant and warmth combination of food and entertainment that brought on the feeling of being treated as an honored guest for most.
Khum Khantoke offers dining on authentic Northern Thai food, sample local delicacies and the atmosphere of traditional Lanna Khantoke. A Khantoke is a low tray, atop short pillars where various food-dishes are displayed. There will probably be "Gai Tawd" (a flavorsome chicken creation), "Kaeng Hang-Le (pork and ginger curry), a variety of steamed and fried vegetable platters, and slices of fresh cucumber for dipping in "Nam Prik Ong" (a mild chilli and tomato sauce), all accompanied by a large bowl of steamed rice and a straw basket of sticky rice.
Along the meal, you'll be entertained by a cultural show celebrating the dancing style from every part of the country including a Candle dance, Faun Tee, Sword dance, Hilltribe dance, Drum dance, Seung Kapo, Traditional Ramwong, and Khon (elegant, stylized Thai drama). Other than that, Khun Khantoke also provides alternative food selections available from an all carte menu. After the meal, you will also be delighted by a light, sweet dessert along with fresh fruit, coffee or tea.
The restaurant can accommodate 600 guests indoors and 1000 guests outdoors. Whether you are part of an incentive group or an individual guest, we are more than happy to arrange your visit and help make the most of it.
